Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Repack)

The Force Unleashed II picks up directly from the canonical ending of its predecessor, where Starkiller betrays Vader and attempts to take on Emperor Palpatine. Following his eventual death, Vader creates a clone of Starkiller to be his new apprentice and imprisons him on the remote planet of Kamino. It's here that the game springs to life, with a dramatic cutscene showing Starkiller breaking out of captivity and onto the rain-soaked planet.
From there, Starkiller is pursued by Vader, which leads the reluctant apprentice on a journey around the galaxy. One of the locations he visits is Cato Neimoidia, a Neimoidian pulse world that houses a luxury resort and casino. LucasArts showed us a small section of the level in action, with Starkiller unleashing his Force powers on a group of missile-launching walkers. The team at EA must have heard differently, because at Gamescom 2010 the publisher announced that the upcoming version of FIFA 11 will add the ability to play full 11-players-per-side football online, as well as offline goalie management. Of course, no one wants to be standing around for 90 minutes waiting for their time to shine, and rather than be stuck watching everyone else have all the fun, players who pull on the gloves will be given a few new tools to keep things fresh and interesting.
The first is a real-time set of shot indicators, showing the optimal recommended standing position for your keeper, and a guide to the incoming trajectory of shots. While initially it may sound like a cheat sheet to easy mode, offensive players still have the ability to chip and curl the ball past the keeper, and there’s no indication of power until the ball leaves the attacker’s boot. Players steer the keeper around using the left stick like any other player, while keeping the ball out can be done with the right stick, or with a single button press in simplified mode.Code:one link:crack:

We went hands-on with a multiplayer race against five opponents, without any police interference. To begin, we picked a car, going for a rather splendid bright-yellow Porsche Boxster. The race kicked off with the cars already at speed, with our opponents scrapping for first place. The car handling was arcade-style, with an extremely satisfying drift mechanic that made it easy to slide around corners. Our car was equipped with a boost, which was charged by driving dangerously. By swerving around cars, drifting, and ramming our opponents, the boost charged quickly, allowing us to make our way up to second place. Using the boost resulted in requisite motion blur, which gave us a great feeling of speed as we sped along the track.
The final race Criterion showed us highlighted many of the graphical effects in the game. It started off on a rainy track, with realistic-looking spray flying from the back of the tyres. This soon gave way to sunshine, and we could see reflections along the bodywork of the car. The race then transitioned to nighttime, with street lamps and moonlight creating a neon glow across the road. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is due for release on November 16 in North America and November 19 in Europe.Code:one link:

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (Repack)

The story begins with a powerful magical artifact being shattered. As the walls of reality begin to crumble, Spider-Men across the four different dimensions must hunt down the shards of the artifact under the guidance of the mysterious Madame Web. Her disembodied voice gives our heroes plenty of opportunities to make wisecracks (not that they need any encouragement), and each Spidey has a distinct personality that helps each dimension feel unique. Bantering with villains opens up more opportunity for humor, and along with some genuinely funny jokes, there are a lot of enjoyable pop culture references and nods to the Spider-Man canon. The dialogue sometimes tilts too much towards the cliche, and there are certain times (especially boss fights) when Spidey or Madame Web repeat the same quip with alarming frequency. Fortunately, those instances are infrequent, and dialogue generally does a great job of capturing Spider-Man's signature mix of determination and impertinence.
When it comes to letting you do the things that a spider can, Shattered Dimensions does an impressive job. You run and jump with an enjoyable sense of agility and make frequent use of your webzipping and webswinging abilities. Most areas are littered with well-marked locations that you can quickly zip to, and most spaces allow you to webswing whenever you want, regardless of whether or not you are surrounded by tall buildings. For the majority of the game, you feel like you can move around with the freedom and speed of Spider-Man. You can swoop across the battlefield, kicking enemies and dropping to the ground to unleash a furious combo. Or you can stay out of reach, crawling along the walls and grabbing objects to throw at your foes. Or you can webzip from body to body, kicking off of your enemies' chests and flinging them around with your webs, barely stopping to touch the ground. Spider-Man is a kinetic superhero, and Shattered Dimensions captures this sensation very well.Code:one link:

The tie-in game, a third-person action adventure, will be a prequel to the movie Tron: Legacy coming out in December, which is itself a sequel to the 1982 sci-fi flick. Tron: Evolution links the plot of the original movie to the sequel as you--in the single-player mode--take on the role of a monitor program written by Flynn to resolve a conflict in the Tron universe. We're told to expect a story that sheds a little light on how the newly liberated electronic world at the end of the 1982 film became the digital dystopia glimpsed in this year's trailers.
Within multiplayer, there's the de rigueur persistent character progression, with levels to attain and upgrades to unlock, but that progress is also brought back into the single-player campaign. The developer, Vancouver-based Propaganda games, reckons unifying the single-player and multiplayer avatar will persuade more Tron: Evolution buyers--more likely to be casual gamers who enjoyed the film than Modern Warfare aficionados--to sample the online experience. Gaining levels in multiplayer can increase an avatar's health reserve or damage resistance, for instance, or grant access to more powerful types of light disc weapons.
The game supports up to 10-person online multiplayer. The four modes comprise Disintegration, a deathmatch mode; Team Disintegration; Power Monger, a domination-style mode in which teams capture energy nodes; and Bit Runner, in which teams fight to capture and hold an elusive single bit. We played the first two modes across the Hard Disk and Heat Sink maps, which were both smaller, enclosed spaces with walls and platforms for clambering on, rendered in the familiar neon Tron style. These maps dont allow light cycles, focusing instead on hand-to-hand and light-disc gladiatorial combat.Code:one link:

The final journey facing Harry Potter is not an easy one. Darkness, loss, and death now fill the space once inhabited by classes, Quidditch, and dorm-room chitchat. There are no more schoolyard adventures, traipses through the forest, or twilight romances by the lake. Instead, Harry, Ron, and Hermione must venture past Hogwarts into the cold, wet English countryside, tracking down and destroying the remaining parts of Voldemort's soul. This is the picture painted so clearly and heartbreakingly by J.K. Rowling's final Harry Potter book and so unceremoniously represented here. Not only does the game's story take liberties with the canon (when did Harry, Ron, and Hermione ever venture inside an abandoned factory?), but those elements of the story that are reflected accurately are portrayed through short, fragmented cutscenes that look dire and are completely unconvincing, making the story confusing and unclear for those unfamiliar with the books.
Important plot points are glossed over in favour of combat, and the game does very little to explain what drives these characters to do what they do. Whats more, cutscenes have the emotional range of a teaspoon, to use Hermiones own words. What is supposed to be one of the most touching moments of the final book is reduced to a cutscene so brief and so badly acted you can only laugh. The character models also leave a lot to the imagination and are plagued by awkward movements, a perpetual stiffness of the hair and clothes, and out-of-sync talking, not to mention extremely limited dialogue--Ron is particularly fond of shouting We cant do this! during every single combat sequence at regular intervals, which is annoying at first and completely soul-destroying by the time you finish the game.Code:one link:

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (repack)

After being introduced in last year's game, full 360-degree ball dribbling makes its return in PES 2011. Without it, sports titles feel more like early '90s arcade titles than current-generation sports simulators. Longtime PES fans may face a short adjustment period, but FIFA fans either dipping their toes with the competitor product or returning to the PES fod should have no trouble making the transition between the two control systems. Dribbling felt smooth and responsive, and even if you're not one to perform ballhandling tricks like feints, simply shielding the ball with your player's body by facing away from the attacker, or drawing a defender to fire off a pass, is simple and rewarding. Ball control is king, and we noticed during our play session the ease with which we were able to pick a gap and lure our opposition to commit a man before threading the needle and stepping the ball around the corner. Passing to team members felt a little bit floaty, while fast-paced ping-pong passing (done away with in this year's FIFA game) frequently set up chances for strikers inside the box.

Tom Clancys HAWX 2 puts you back in the cockpit of various modern or cutting-edge fighter planes, though this time the aerial combat is split across US, Russian, and British campaigns.
